Scott Middleton is in his first term as Village Justice of the Village of Lake Grove. He previously served as Mayor from 2001 until his election as Judge in 2006 and as Trustee from 1995 until 2001. As a Trustee, he served as Deputy Mayor to Robert Henke and was also appointed Commissioner of Recreation, Commissioner of Public Works, Director of Personnel and Commissioner of Parks.
While Commissioner of Parks, Judge Middleton oversaw the reconstruction of all Village Parks, the construction of the Village Recreation Center and ensured that what is now Henke Park, remained in its natural state. Since being elected Village Justice he has revamped the Justice Court, improving efficiency and responsiveness to those utilizing the Court.
Judge Middleton graduated with a Bachelors degree in political science from Stony Brook University in 1984 and received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1988. He has had his own law practice in Bohemia since 1997.
Presently, he is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Nassau/Suffolk Trial Lawyers and will become a member of The New York State Magistrates and Suffolk County Magistrates Associations. He also serves as a member of the Stony Brook University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
He currently resides in the Village with his wife, Elena, and son, Sam. |
