Trustee John G. Peterson has been a resident of Lake Grove for the last forty-one years.   During this time, he raised his two daughters, Nicole and Jennifer, with his wife Catherine.

As a Trustee since 1989, John has now served alongside three Mayors. While a Trustee, he has held the positions of Commissioner of Parks, Buildings & Grounds, and Traffic & Lighting. Currently, he is the Commissioner of Buildings & Grounds `and Commissioner Traffic & Lighting. His top priority as Commissioner of Traffic is to ensure the safety of the residents and all who travel our village roads. As Buildings Commissioner, he works tirelessly to find cost effective ways to upkeep the Village facilities in a manner we can all be proud of.

Before his election to Trustee, John Peterson worked 28 years for Grumman Aerospace until he retired while holding the position of Industrial Engineer and Planner. Before he began his career at Grumman, John served in the United States Army in the Armor Division. Currently, John works in the Middle Country School District as a Chief Custodian.
